by Jörg Juretzka
Seldom I read mystery novels designed as such and with all the typical features of the genre. But the literature podcast I listen to regularly has also a review section about the genre. They recommended Juretzka and his private detective Kryszinki. I admit it was a great pass-time once I got used to the language, which is not precisely sophisticated. But it fits well the environment, where the detective lives. I won’t tell anything about the story since this contradicts the purpose of a mystery story. Nevertheless, I can promise an end with a surprising twist. In between it is just entertaining to see the detective struggling with his precarious financial situation, with his own intellectual limitations, and with his constant hangovers. Just fun!
