by Oliver Polak
Oliver Polak is a comedian of jewish descent. He grew up in the German province, where he, his mother, and his father were the only jews in town. And that is basically the topic of this book: th e funny, grotesque, sad, ridiculous situations in the light of the German crimes under Hitler and today’s feel of guilt., which led to the opposite of extermination: blind admiration of anything Jewish. It is fashionable to be a Jew. Hence the title of the book: “ I am allowed to do that, I am Jew”. I picked that audiobook just for its funny title, which summarizes and ironizes today’s German-jewish life.
