In 2009 we didn’t go for the spectacular hike, nevertheless it was spectacular. We wanted to explore the West Ukraine including the Carpathian Mountains. Mostly we travelled in trains and we hiked along the Ukrainian- Romanian border. We hiked also along some former borders according the ever-changing old European geography. Besides dark and impenetrable forests, it was a very interesting trip into European history with a very nice surprise at the end: Odessa.
